What is REACH standard?

The REACH regulation is the most stringent management system for chemicals developed by the European Union based on years of management experience to protect human health and environmental safety. What is CA117 standard?

The CA117 fire protection standard in the United States is a widely used disposable fire protection standard that does not require testing after washing and is applicable to most textiles exported to the United States.

 

Testing standards

Textile fabric with a smooth surface:

1) When the flame propagation time of the sample is not less than 3.5 seconds, it has good fire resistance performance

2) When the flame spread time of the sample is less than 3.5 seconds, the textile is flammable and not suitable for clothing.

Textiles with fiber tufts on the surface:

1) When the flame spread time of the sample is greater than 7 seconds, or the surface burns for 0-7 seconds, it indicates that the fire is not sufficient to ignite, carbonize, or melt the sample, indicating that the sample has good fire resistance and normal combustion performance;

2) When the flame propagation time of the sample is 4-7 seconds, including 4-7 seconds, and the back is ignited, carbonized, or melted, it is considered that the sample has a combustion performance between (1) and (3);

3) When the flame propagation time of the sample is less than 7 seconds and the intensity of the flame is sufficient to ignite, carbonize, and melt the back of the sample, it is considered to have rapid and intense combustibility.

Functions

1) This standard is formulated based on practical considerations after fully studying the causes of fires, making it more scientific. The test ignition sources are cigarette smouldering (smoldering) test, imitation match ignition test and imitation of a certain amount of newspaper ignition test, which are consistent with the actual foam fire scene.

2) The testing indicators are more intuitive, the investment in testing instruments is not large, and the operation is convenient. Enterprises can conduct inspections and tests during production and at the factory.
